Titus was cruising right along with treatment and really enjoying his time at home. Even though we would have to leave the house at 6:45am three to four days a week. He hit a little speed bump. The chemo is really causing some funky things to happen in his body! They decided to stop his treatment last week, so he did not get his last dose of that and we are on pause for the next round until his counts recover a bit. Also, his previous port site wound was looking a bit gnarly. They had to send us from the infusion center to the ED to be admitted on Friday, June 13 to get some IV antibiotics and to monitor his wound and labs a little more closely. They decided to do a debridement of the wound. Thankfully they decided to do it while he was under anesthesia! They also did his lumbar puncture and bone marrow biopsy at the same time, it was scheduled for Tuesday, June 17. The procedures went well. He is in a bit of pain from the wound and the biopsy site, which is to be expected. We will likely be at the hospital for the entire week. They are giving him antibiotics and a medication to help recover his neutrophils (boost his immune system). No discussion of a new port at this time and not until this other site heals appropriately! Will try to keep updates on here as much as possible! He is in mostly good spirits right now, joking with his nurse this morning is always a good sign to me. 😜
