It has been a while since the last update, so sorry! I don't have to just sit at the hospital very long at this point. Titus had labs drawn, picc line cleaning and wound vac dressing change done on Monday. His numbers were not where the doctors want them to be at this stage (which was kind of expected) therefore he has had this week off of chemo! I think it was actually good timing. Chemo was really starting to show its ugly side! He will go back on Monday to have labs drawn again to see if his numbers are at a safe place to begin chemo then, if not, he will get another week off. He seems to have felt better this week, physically. Still super tired and not a very big appetite, but a bit of a better mood. We did have to go back today for his wound vac dressing change. Titus has started to take his own dressing off. We have a wonderful pediatric surgical nurse practitioner that comes to change his dressing every time now. She is great! Today, the dressing came off and we were so excited! His wound looks so much healthier! She said that he could graduate from the wound vac to a wet/dry dressing! So that means, the wound vac is GONE! He does not have to be connected to that loud, heavy, hot machine anymore! And even better news, he does not have to have stitches! He was a little worried about that, he hates needles! Because of his weakened immune system they don't want to close the wound up. I will have to do his wound care 2 times daily. He is really so relieved to be free from the machine! He still has 2 more weeks of his antibiotic then we can discuss getting a new port! We want to say thank you to all of our family and friends that continue to pray for Titus and our whole family! And for the donations! We are looking forward to the Highland Games at our house this weekend! All are welcome to come and watch. Bring chairs, coolers with snacks and drinks for your family and some sunscreen and watch some great friends throw some heavy things around our yard! 🧡
